More Information on the fixture

Before the race

You can pre-register for an upcoming fixture online a few weeks before the race. This link will be posted on the club Facebook groups -or- you can ask your team captain for the link.

You will need to fill in a short online form with your name, Welsh Athletics number (URN) and team name:

  • Men: As there are two men's teams, check with the Men's Team Captain who will confirm if you are running for Port Talbot Harriers or Port Talbot Harriers Wizards
  • Women: Register your team as Port Talbot Harriers as there is only one women's team

The entry fee is currently £4 per runner.

You can also register on the day at the registration tent.

After the race

Nothing required after the race! There is no chip timing, the organisers will track your finish by logging your race bib number.

1. If there are 100 athletes in the race the winner will get 100 match points, the person who is last will get 1 point (guests don't score).

2. 5 athletes score per team (so if one team has the first 5 athletes they will get 100+99+98+97+96=490 match points)

3. The team with the most match points wins the match.

4. Teams are split into Divisions.

5 In Mens Division 1, there are 8 teams, so the team with the most match points will get 8 league points, the team that is second will get 7 league points etc.

6. League positions are determined by who has the most league points.

7. If two teams have the same number of league points, the team with the most number of match points gains the higher league position.

For the West Glam XC League you only need to be a first claim club member (and not run for any other club during this season) and can wear the either the white or black PTH vest/t-shirt.
